“Then what the factions and neutrals need is a single goal in mind to unite us together. We stay divided like this Cybertron will never find true peace.” Optimus spoke solemnly, indicating his still long standing concerns. They may have had peace, but it wasn’t truly there when the tensions remained. So easily had old grievances been sparked from a misunderstanding, giving light to just how quickly this peace could shatter.
But when Megatron indicated this himself, Optimus let out a deep vent, “Sideswipe and Windstrike escaped Decepticon custody.” He finally came clean since he had up until now kept this under wraps per Sideswipe’s request. But, given the fact there was no camaraderie or love between Megatron and Deathsaurus, it seemed a safe gamble to throw into the mix. “And he was once one of yours I do remember. Him and Sunstreaker were gladiators like yourself, fighting in the arena as a duo before they joined your earlier campaigns before switching sides.” The red and blue mech leaned against the side of the table as he crossed his arms, “But this tells me that Galvatron may lack full control of the situation himself, giving us something of an advantage.”
Optimus’ merely gave Megatron a look, letting out a “Hm” in response to the warlord’s words. Of course he was always prepared. But it was what exactly Megatron has implemented that concerned the Prime, but for the time being decided not to entirely elaborate on the matter. He already had a feeling he would find out what that was soon enough. Next, came the inquiries Optimus expected and yet...had no answers.
“It is...a faint recognition. I do not quite know myself, I just know his name strikes an uncomfortably familiar cord at the core of my spark, yet it escapes me to why.” Optimus explained the best he could. “I had these feelings most strongly in the Realm of the Primes, and when facing your namesake.” Maybe it was just the ghost of a feeling from the Matrix, from one of its prior predecessors. Surely.
