Awareness came very slowly. It crept in, slowly sinking in like a cold chill into flesh reaching for the bones. Their body ached like it usually did after an extensive repair; however, things felt different. They weren’t damp like when the usually woke up, they were also laying down on… something with lots of different textures including some sharp pieces that may or may not have been cutting into their back, and the air was moving against them. Everything in them suddenly and violently tensed, muscles shaking with the effort put in. Their eyes snapped open and they shot upright, ignoring the rush of dizziness they took in their surroundings and had a sudden memory of doing this before which lead to passing out. They closed their eyes and took a few deep breaths and ran their cooling system fans kicking on. There were a couple streams of hot wetness running down their back. It could be blood, coolant, energon, or other some manner of fluid running out of them, even all of the above. It definitely wouldn’t be the first time… Focusing on the pain helped alleviate the wave of dizziness and the experiment opened their eyes again.
They had never seen anything like this, but then again they haven’t seen much of anything. There were two dirty walls that towered to great heights above her, yet there was no ceiling. They could see the top edges of the walls and it was empty between them and past them… a darkness so deep it just stretched farther then her eyes could focus. This darkness had little points of light hanging there in it and they had no name for this but it stole their breath away. They eventually tore their eyes away from the… something? And investigated what they were on. It seemed to be a pile of metal, plastic, glass and other bits and parts. Their seemed to be edges of a container just barely visible but the stuff was over flowing it and was greatly spilled out of all side to the point of which the container was barely visible. None of the things in this pile seemed to be functioning. Just like them… They must have been… disposed of. They didn’t know how they felt about this. They slowly tried to climb out of the pile. There were even some things that had been dumped on top of them. Every single movement they made sent something clattering or banging down. They had forgotten about their damage which had already fixed its self; however, it showed a very clear splattered path right to their hiding spot.
The experiment flinched every single time and began to panic at how much noise they were making. What if someone noticed? What if someone looked? How would they react? Would they take them back? Eventually they just blasted their thrusters forcing themselves out of the pile they landed a fair bit away and were already looking for a hiding spot that wouldn’t leave them trapped. They couldn’t see anything… the two walls in both directions just opened up into wider spaces. There was another bin this one had almost nothing in it and a just small enough space to squeeze behind and that was where the experiment dived to. Quickly fitting themselves in the crack and they held their breath scanning the area.
