Through the forests his eight legs scuttled restlessly, his jaws twitching in uncontrollable anticipation. He raced the morning sun until he reached a small clearing where seven stacks of wood challenged the treetops with their height. Huffing a hiss, Gox calibrated his four optics for calculation.
“Everything present. Resources.” Gox thumped one of his pointed legs against the dirt. “Snacks.” He huddled through rotation towards a heap of precious consumables.
“New world=new tastes. Tastes+home= temporary satisfaction.” He chittered the reminder in primal vernacular, before he diligently set to work. his front legs split into drill tips while his secondary front legs extended to shovel-like appendages. His cybernetic wiring instinctively carved out the perfect circle for a hole, and proceeded downward into the earth. Dirt flew from the sides. Gox never hesitated as he rapidly forced his way underground. Patiently he heaved until the layer of dirt between him and the surface was five feet thick, before he ceased his drilling to step back, his limbs hastily patted the ground to compact it securely. His pattering ceased when he reached the surface, before spurring to the pieces of wood he’d collected. As he hurried back to the whole, he used his technological limbs to fashion the wood into a makeshift pillar.
Gox repeated the entire process over the next few hours; hollowing an entire hallway and living area. The spider ensured he used enough tree trunk for ceiling support, as well as a few well placed pillars. Not minding his the nocturnal nature of his habitat he exited to the outdoors, hungry optics guiding him to his large stockpile of energon goodies. His mandibles shuttered as he zipped out into the open—-
