The halls of the training room echoed with toil; grunts and clangs of combat rung throughout them… Airwatcher bolted forward towards three drones returning the charge. Both katana were drawn, their energy blades glinting the same challenge his visor did as he summersaulted in the air over streak of energy. Too slow. As he curled his light form to land he arched his blade around, slicing the first drone directly in half.
The second drone never broke pace, opening fire within yards of the two wheeler. Yet Airwatcher let momentum guide him to pivot on his heel: arching his second blade around in a spin. In one fell swoop the Katana deflected the energy beam, and cleaved the second drone in half. Airwatcher’s door wings flinched as he swung to a millisecond pause, balancing on his opposite foot. His visor beamed a fierce green as his reflexes became enslaved to a slightly panicked instinct. The third drone hovered merely feet away. The third’s cannons glowed with the light—-
But Airwatcher’s arm flashed through the air in a tight slash, rendering the third as dead as his brothers. At last, Airwatcher ended his momentum as he slammed his pede upon the ground, catching his balance. Heaving lightly, his engines revved to relaxation.
ZAP
Airwatcher’s back plating felt the impact of a single round before a a volley of energy beams decked him from behind. The fourth drone! He thought desperately before slamming to the ground. Agony flaked his plating and crippled his engines as simulated null-rays pierced him. A precious five second passed before the clenching two wheeler finally realized the pain wouldn’t get any worse.
Taking strength, Airwatcher reeled around, swiping his servo and launching a Katana directly into the fourth drone, stabbing it directly through the optic. From his position on the floor Airwatcher writhed while he observed the husk clunk lifelessly down, joining its brothers.
“Ugh….” He moaned. I was almost untouchable… He thought to himself. To think that if a war did happen I’d be facing more than four drones, and things far larger than me. His graceful moves became a faint and overrated thing of the past as he arose, and clanked to the bench, sighing to himself as he caught his breath, never noticing if any watched…
