He stood patiently upon a large rocks jutting from the sands on the coast, to his left crashing waves cascaded upon themselves. He’d chosen the spot to meet. The rocks provides decent cover for human and mech alike, and any sort of ground vehicle would have difficulty navigating the rocks within fifty foot radius of him, excluding the ocean that roared to his side. Meanwhile, the waves were too shallow for any sort of submarine Scatharin was aware of—but they offered themselves as ideal swimming for the likes of him, though he’d have to be quick. It was grace that his training had provided him experience in athletics.
The wind seemed to whisper him yet another warning as another wave crashed against his perch, soaking the tips of his torn cloak. According to his HUD, his clients had another thirty minutes—yet his instincts told him that they had likely already secured the area. The fleshliness had machines to scan and search. And though the transaction had been arranged merely a day earlier, Scatharin knew it was a ‘red sky in the morning’ that he had business with such ambitious species.
It is fates cruel humor that such determination and cunning is lended to such tiny and weak creatures. His narrow slit of an optic eased, Then again, it is my races age-span that encourages our complacency. He watched another wave dash against the rocks. Yet I know th humans would grow to be just like us in that regard if given the privilege of longevity. Already they recline so luxuriously within the decades they have to live. He mused. Yes, humans were no better than cybertronians when it came to their inherent nature. Naturally, he may not state such things, depending on how his clients set up their chess board.
While not always a mech of Pride, Scatharin knew himself to be an individual of rare talents and aspirations. Perhaps his clients wouldn’t know much about him…but they would be cautious. Rooks, pawns, bishops…I wouldn’t flatter myself thinking they’d keep a queen or knight too close though. On the other hand, one can never be too cautious.
