Weaponry/Special Abilities:
+Cybertanium Arm blades: During the war, Sideswipe was able to get a hold of the nearly indestructible Cybertronian mineral, Cybertanium, and forged into long, sharp blades he has become famous for. About as long as his arms, these blades are retractable into his arms or can be detached, allowing him to leave the blade stabbed into a spot or enemy or on rare occasions thrown before being reattached.
+Hard-light Broadsword: A more recent weapon of Sideswipe's created with both Earth and advanced Cybertronian technology, Sideswipe had this weapon made for some versatility in his melee weapons. The handle is a simple hilt and crossguard, smokey gray in color with an activation switch on the side to trigger the hard-light energy. This energy forms a two edged serrated blade that can extent to roughly half his body length, the length of his arm blades, or the size of a large dagger. It is often kept mounted on his back.
+Shoulder mounted Machine Gun: Initially his go-to ranged weapon, Sideswipe has a machine gun that fires 200 shells per minute as needed. It can be folded up from behind the left shoulder or he can choose to use it as he's flipping, sliding, and the like for a surprise attack.
+Flare launchers x2: Located at his hips, Sideswipe has two hand-held guns of which fire explosive armor piercing rounds.
+Jetpack: Sideswipe has a removable jetpack located on his upper back in which he uses for short distance flight and extra height in his jumps. This gives him the capability of performing several acrobatic feats in the air and giving aerial borne fliers a run for their shanix.
+Windstrike (Weaponizer Partner): During one of his mercenary outings, Sideswipe met the Weaponzier minicons who had sought refuge and out of Starscream’s reach. In particular, he met and took a mutual liking towards the minicon known as Windstrike who transformed into a formidable long sword, quickly catching the intrigue of the veteran. Before long, the two formed a partnership and decided to work and travel together and have since made a considerable duo.

Personality: Sideswipe's personality has both remained the same and changed over time. First, Sideswipe is one of those individuals who is pretty forward and upfront about his thoughts and what he thinks. For lack of better word he has no filter, nor does he always think before he speaks which has more often than not earned him some trouble and punishment. He is a vocal mech, speaking against authority when he feels the need to, or even when its not, and often back talks and is overall blunt and honest. Although he partly blames Ironhide for this habit having gotten worse, sometimes jokingly and seriously.
On another note, Sideswipe is a known show off and is somewhat pessimistic. The mech knows he's not bad looking and he knows he's got the skills to back up his big talk. In general, the mech isn't afraid to flaunt what he's got and often boasts about it much to the annoyance of others and much to Ironhide's chagrin. To go along with this, Sideswipe is a big flirt and quite the charmer, never being afraid to show his smooth talking and putting the moves on someone. At spark, Sideswipe is a good mech who, despite these aspects, has actually mellowed out somewhat, becoming more mature and a bit more serious than he once was, especially seen with fewer pranks and (somewhat) less dangerous missions.
However, Sideswipe is also still a warrior at spark. When he gets into the warrior mind-set, he can flip a switch to becoming an unrelenting and focused pursuer and fighter, knowing priority for a target is his upmost concern. He still maintains his macho persona when doing so, but it is most during this time that the young warrior seems the most focused and determined, which has concerned some as from time to time Sideswipe shows a brutal side underlying that good spark. Nevertheless, on and outside the battle field Sideswipe is a wise ass, cracking jokes or making quips to his fellow Autobots and their allies. He especially does this during his combat training and full on combat.
Still, a final thing to note is that Sideswipe is also known to have a temper, which can change his unrelenting ways in combat to full blown bloodlust, something he has attempted to fix but hasn't been entirely successful. Some horrors of war have also had a lasting effect on Sideswipe, having symptoms of PTSD that he does not wish to acknowledge or admit to having long after the war has been over. Peace of mind is far out of his processor unfortunately, and any attempts of happiness have failed the young warrior due to his lingering aggression and mental condition, leading to the loss of a chance at a family and abandoning those who once looked up to him.
History: Since the first time he emerged from the Well with his brother, Sideswipe has known nothing but a rough, unforgiving life. In a caste society their forms were deemed as unnecessary for just about most jobs, forcing them into an almost merchant lifestyle that they flipped into a legitimate and con business. While Sunstreaker did and sold his art Sideswipe acted as a trader for goods and other services, hyping items up or selling knock-offs for lower the price than normal. Such a tactic worked for much of their earlier life to get by, managing to get a cheap apartment.
But, it wasn’t enough to carve out a living.
So, while Sunstreaker put greater focus into his artistic skills, Sideswipe found a different job: the racing circuit. Feeling right at home in such an environment, the red twin quickly found his footing into the racing circuits, climbing the ranks within months and also taking up illegal racing for the spare shanix. Doing so allowed Sideswipe to contribute more to their shared living abode. But one day when he returned from one of his midnight races, Sideswipe was surprised when Sunstreaker approached him about a side job they could do and what Sunstreaker did in his off time, the two eventually joining in the illegal gladiatorial battles. Here is where Sideswipe first discovered his underlying dark side, finding a need to fill a void with combat and bloodlust which the twins easily fulfilled with more grueling matches, making use of their skins as a duo to draw crowds and bring in the attention. For a while, life was turning out rather well for the two and they made quite a name for themselves in the coming years up until the war became a reality.
Following the original ideals of the Decepticons, both twins at first joined in on Megatron’s first shows of power, feeling by doing so things could change. Unfortunately, these ideals became twisted and Sideswipe was genuinely horrified to see innocents targeted and life slaughtered without thought. It was enough to change the opinion of both brothers who turned to the Autobots instead, offering their services to their cause and taken under the veteran, Ironhide. With the gruff mech’s help, their skills were greatly refined and improved upon, making them an even greater fighting force to be reckoned with in the many battles to come. Over the course of the war however, the two would often find themselves having to take on solo missions more and more, Sideswipe even partaking in the mission to retrieve the Lightning Coalition Force with Jazz and Cliffjumper where he took to defending the perimeter and their pilot.
For much of the war, Sideswipe was a front-line fighter up until the day came for the Exodus, in which case he became part of the Ark crew and part of the original Team Prime whom he served for sometime in their quest to find the Allspark. Eventually, their quest led them to separate into teams but Sideswipe was one of those who volunteered to continue his missions solo, at the time expecting the separation from his brother and mentor to be temporary before he left. Unfortunately, Sideswipe’s travels led him to the planet of Aquatron to investigate some unusual activity and during the course of his many weeks of investigation was ousted by an informant and was imprisoned upon the planet for years. Here, he was pitted against other prisoners and Sharkticons, some of these individuals being Autobots, Decepticons, neutrals, and off-worlders he had never met before. This took a heavy toll on Sideswipe who struggled to maintain sanity and keep himself alive.
During a week the fighters could have downtime thanks to the Curator, a Quintesson agent in control of the planet, Sideswipe managed to get himself back into a normal state of mind. With the downtime, the remaining survivors got to know one another and formed a surrogate group that began to plot a rebellion. When the week break was over, the Sharkticons and Allicons came to collect the combatants for their coming matches for the last time as Sideswipe took the lead on the rebellion. Quickly tearing their way through the numbers, Sideswipe and those who survived the onslaught were able to escape the planet and took to the stars, for a time Sideswipe going it alone. During his next travels, he had gotten word that things had changed in his years of captivity, the war had ended and Cybertron was slowly being rebuilt. Shocked, Sideswipe made his way home, surprised by the changes and meeting old faces he had not seen in years, lying about where he had been all that time. In total shock and feeling unsettled by the peace, he found it difficult for many years to remain settled, finding it easier to hire himself out as a mercenary and to blacksmith to keep his mind normal. At one point he even had Fastlane/Sideswipe II under his wing before abandoning him to the stars again.
Some sixty years later, Sideswipe has barely maintained a decent life. He’s made a partnership with the Weaponizer Windstrike and eventually met and fell in love with the human, Robyn Fowler. Unfortunately, their relationship ended shortly after the arrival of their daughter when Agent Fowler consistently expressed outrage over his daughter being with a Cybertronian, especially one he considered to be barely stable. So for seventeen years, Sideswipe has remained on Cybertron with his small partner, trying to get his life together and has only recently considered returning to the organic planet.
